Principal Investigator

Dr. Sasha Dong is an assistant professor. She received her Ph.D. degree from Cornell University (2015), M.S. degree from Columbia University (2012), and B.S. degree from Nanjing University (2011). Before joining Texas State University as an Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering, she interned at CSX Transportation as an Operations Research Intern, and worked for FedEx Freight as a Senior Operations Research Scientist.

 

Postdoc

Dr. Guo Qiu received her PhD degree in Transportation Planning and Management from the School of Transportation at Beijing Jiaotong University in 2019. Her M.S degree in transportation engineering, and B.S degree in traffic engineering are both from Chang’an University in China. Dr. Qiu’s primary research interests are transit network design, travel demand analysis, big data and logistics management.

 

Dr. Rui Dai received his PhD degree in industrial engineering from the University of South Florida in 2020. His PhD advisor is Prof. Hadi Charkhgard. He received his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Donghua University located in Shanghai, China. Dr. Dai’s research focuses on advancing the design, modeling, and optimization for complex energy systems and transportation systems. His research interests include Integer Programming, Stochastic Optimization, and Multi-objective Optimization

 

Graduate Students

Jinli Liu is a PhD student in the GIS program. She received her M.S. degree in transportation management & planning from Texas Southern University in 2021. She received her bachelor’s degree and another master’s degree from Zhejiang Normal University located in Zhejiang, China. Jinli Liu’s primary research interests include Traffic signal design and operational analysis, Traffic safety analysis, GIS based system design and analysis, and multi-objective optimization

Alexander Little was an undergraduate student of Industrial Engineering with a minor in Applied Mathematics at Texas State University. His current research focuses on applying machine learning and data science techniques to identify social media misinformation. He is the recipient of Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship Program

 

Detong Che is a graduate student in Industrial Engineering at Texas State University. She received her M.S degree in Database Technologies from New York University in 2021, and B.S degree in Applied Engineering Sciences with a concentration in Supply Chain Management from Michigan State University in 2018. Her current research focuses on supply chain and operational analysis. Her work is supported by NSF D-ISN grant and NSF regional I-Corps grant.

Undergraduate Students
